Welcome to the website for Friends of Hollinswood & Randlay Valley.

The Valley is one your Local Nature Reserves within the Borough of Telford and Wrekin.

Have you ever visited the Valley?  It is close to Telford Town Park and is a beautiful place to visit, with walks and green open spaces, for everyone to enjoy.

Our Friends Group was created to offer support to Hollinswood & Randlay Parish Council as they work to improve the area and to provide a safe outdoor space.

We work as volunteers to litter pick and to cut back shrubs and bushes, to keep paths clear and areas accessible.  We hold regular volunteer days so you can help us and get involved – it is great fun!

We also hold meetings and events.  More information is available on this website.  There is also a ‘Contact Us’ area so that you can get in touch with us and let us know your thoughts and ideas.

It was with great sadness that we lost our keen and dedicated Chairman, Chris Turley, recently following a short illness.

Chris was committed to the Valley and spent many hours cutting back shrubs and trees to keep areas accessible and also mowing verges and paths, so that we can access the open spaces and see the wildlife and wild flowers.

Harvey Unwin has taken on the role of Chairman and said

“It is an honour and a privilege to be elected as Chairman, but to follow Chris will be no easy task.  We want to continue to encourage as many people and families as possible to visit Randlay Valley and to enjoy and experience the open space and see the range of trees, shrubs, flowers, animals and insects that live within the Valley.  You will always be welcome and we would love for you to be involved with our work, too”

Our Vice Chairman is Richard Hunt, our Secretary is Dave Deakin and our Treasurer is Katrina Baker.

On our Management Team we also have an Environmental Officer, Liam Seabury, and an Events Co-Ordinator, Sheenagh Unwin.
